One event which BAHPS enjoys each year is the tour of the Historical Complex on the hill with the students of Grade 3 from our local schools. This past December, we received not only the 84 students we had previously booked from Curington Elementary School, but also more students from Kendall Elementary School. We conducted tours in three buildings with over 150 students total. What an invigorating experience it was for all. The children of Boerne are very inquisitive, enthusiastic, and eager to know about their heritage and the culture of their city. And the docents and volunteers of the Boerne Area Historical Preservation Society are just as excited to share the stories, structures, and furnishings with them. The personalized tours linked them to their ancestors that built Boerne. The annual tour of students is one of the highlights of the Society.
